SHIRAZ: Black with purple rim. Very aromatic nose including plums and jasmine. The palate is big and bold with sweet, ultra-ripe fruit and relatively soft tannins. Hint of pepper on finish. Drinking nicely now or keep for 5 or so years.
BEST DECANTED
Food Accompaniments.
Slow roasted shoulder of Karoo lamb with anchovy and rosemary stuffing to pick up on the spiciness of the wine.(Luke Dale-Roberts of La Colombe).
And, of course any rich meat or pasta dish.
The Nash family dedicates this fine wine to the rich biodiversity of South Africa. Part of the proceeds will go to the improvement and maintenance of the endangered pristine renosterveld at Rhenosterkop Conservation Area.

Renosterveld Notes
Renosterveld is one of South Africa’s most threatened vegetation types. It is a fire proned shrubland within the Cape Floral Kingdom. It is known for its high diversity of plants, and contains many endangered species (especially geophytes) which are found nowhere else in the world. The Nash family is proud to have placed into conservancy 185 hectares of renosterveld.
Where’s The Rhinoceros
The connection with a rhinoceros is unclear. Renosterveld gets its name from the renosterbos, a dull grey member of the daisy family, which is the most abundant and conspicuous shrub in the vegetation type. Perhaps the grey appearance of the renosterbos-dominated vegetation resembled the hide of the black rhinoceros, which once roamed the Cape, or perhaps these animals used to congregate to browse and shelter in the thicket vegetation that used to line the riverbanks of renosterbos areas.
